The Government Smart Kiosk by the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) (DGA) was rewarded in the Public Sector Excellence Awards 2019 from the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC).

he Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) organized the Academic Seminar and the Public Sector Excellence Awards 2019 on September 13, 2019, at the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, Impact Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi. The event aimed to recognize government agencies with exceptional performance in improving administrative efficiency and delivering outstanding public services under the theme “Shift to the Future: The Public Sector Adjusts, the Future Changes”.

A total of 219 government projects were awarded for their significant contributions to enhancing the efficiency of government operations and service deliveries. The award ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Wissanu Krea-ngam. 

DGA received an award retrieved from the “Government Smart Kiosk” project in the category of Data Integration for Service. This service is designed to provide citizens with comprehensive access to government information and services in a digital format. It is available at government service points and public areas across all regions of the country.

Moreover, the service allows for secure identity verification using a multi-purpose smart ID card (Smart Card) which ensures high levels of security. Citizens can confidently access and use services with the promise of a “Use, Check, Sure” experience. 

Mrs. Airada Luangvilai,  Senior Executive Vice President and DGA Acting President & CEO, expressed pride in the success of the Government Smart Kiosk, stating that it is a result of collaboration between several government agencies, including the Department of Provincial Administration, Office of the Ombudsman, Social Security Office, Office of the Civil Service Commission, Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, Office of the Teacher Council, Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, National Credit Bureau, Student Loans Fund, and the Royal Thai Police, etc.

Currently, DGA has 77 service points across the country, located in government agencies, Central Department Stores, and Big C Supercenter locations. In the future, DGA plans to expand the installation of kiosks by  additional 40 locations.

Some of the services available included Social Security Rights Check, Health Insurance Rights Check, Old-Age Pension Fund Balance Check, Social Security Benefits Approval for Accident or Childbirth, Civil Registration Information, Credit Bureau Summary Report, Professional Certification for Educators, Rajavithi Hospital Eligibility Check, Ramathibodi Hospital Appointment Check, Health Check-up Records for Hospitals under the Ministry of Public Health, Student Loans Fund (SLF) Status Check, and other government services.

In the future, DGA will expand the range of services available through these kiosks by collaborating with more government agencies to meet the specific needs of citizens in each area.

The Public Sector Excellence Award that DGA received this year will serve as a significant driving force to create innovations and digital government services that provide citizens with greater convenience, speed, and immediate access to public services.
