The Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) (DGA) participated in the Digital Transformation Award 2019 ceremony; a project aimed at driving the public sector into the digital era. The event was held on July 24, 2019, at the Convention Hall, 4th Floor, Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok, and presided over by Dr. Piyanuch Wuttisorn, the Secretary-General of the National Board of Digital Economy Commission.

Thanks to DGA’s dedication and its collaboration with the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), the Biz Portal project – a centralized government service platform for businesses – was awarded 1st Runner-up in the Service Excellence category at the Digital Transformation Award 2019. The award was presented by the BDE. 

Furthermore, Mr. Chutchawan Chidchaimongkol, the Vice President of Organizational Strategy, represented DGA in receiving the award alongside Ms. Nicha Sathornkit, the Public Administration Development Specialist from the OPDC.

This event marked the inaugural year of the Digital Transformation Award 2019, recognizing the most successful projects in driving a fully digital government. Over the years, significant progress was accomplished among government agencies under the Digital Government Plan 2017-2021 with many agencies initiating and successfully implementing projects, while others were in the early stages of development.

To encourage and set an example for other government agencies, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has introduced this award as a model for further project development. A total of 16 rewarded projects were categorized into four key areas: 1) Projects related to public and business services, 2) Projects utilizing data-driven & decision-making, 3) Projects aimed at enhancing process efficiency, and 4) Projects integrating advanced technologies in government operations. In addition, the event also featured an exhibition showcasing award-winning digital projects, highlighting their contributions and success in digital transformation.
