The Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), or DGA, has joined forces with more than 50 government agencies nationwide to collaboratively prepare data for the United Nations E-Government Survey 2026, intending to improve Thailand’s ranking in the global E-Government Development Index (EGDI).

An online coordination meeting was held on April 1, 2025, to exchange information and ensure readiness in responding to the Member States Questionnaire (MSQ) — the official assessment form provided by the United Nations (UN). This questionnaire plays a crucial role in evaluating e-government development across 193 UN member states and is conducted biennially.

This meeting received strong collaboration from key government agencies that play pivotal roles in national development, including:

  • Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society
  • Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation
  • Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport
  • Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council
  • Bureau of the Budget
  • Department of Employment
  • Department of Older Persons
  • Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization) (TPQI)

Various agencies are committed to providing data and support to collectively elevate the quality of public services in the digital era.

DGA and its partner agencies aim to strengthen data management and governance to ensure Thailand’s position as a global leader of global digital government development for sustainable development.

On this occasion, Mr. Charin Thiratitayangkul, DGA Vice President of Digital Government Strategy Department, revealed that in the latest assessment, Thailand has risen to 52nd out of 193 countries, improving from 55th place in 2022. The country also retains the 2nd highest ranking in the ASEAN region, with an EGDI score of 0.8351, up by 0.0691 points from 0.7660 in 2022.
This marks a commendable development, reflecting the collaborative efforts of all involved sectors.

However, to confront the rapid digital transformation globally, governments around the world are increasingly integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the efficiency and quality of public services. At the same time, they are emphasizing the importance of Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development — a key priority in advancing government administration systems that can effectively respond to the diverse needs of citizens inclusively, equitably, and efficiently, over the long term.

DGA, as the primary agency responsible for collecting and processing digital government development data, recognizes the critical importance of collaboration from all government agencies to ensure that the data submitted to the United Nations is accurate, comprehensive, and truly reflects the overall development of Thailand.

With the collaboration of over 50 government agencies nationwide, DGA is confident that Thailand will significantly improve its EGDI ranking in the 2026 assessment, advancing the country to a position of regional and global leadership in digital government — securely and sustainably.
