Combatting online crime –Thailand Digital Government Academy (TDGA), under Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) (DGA), organized the TDGA Dinner Talk & Alumni Networking Night. The event was honored by Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, who oversees DGA. He delivered a keynote speech on “Digital Government for All: The Next Chapter for Government Leaders” Mrs. Airada Luangvilai, Senior Executive Vice President and Acting President & CEO of DGA, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister and senior executives from government agencies who have completed TDGA training programs (e-GCEO, GCIO, and e-GEP), spanning 17 cohorts with a network of 149 alumni present at the event. The event aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange and experiences among government executives, driving digital government integration in alignment with national policies. It was held at Amari Watergate Bangkok on September 24, 2024.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Thailand on its E-Government Development Index (EGDI) ranking by the United Nations, where the country placed 52nd out of 193 nations, making it the 2nd highest in ASEAN. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to bureaucratic and military reform, aiming for a modernized digital government through five key digital transformation policies:

  1. tackling call center scams, cyber fraud, and online gambling with sustained efforts.
  2. Transitioning to a digital government – implementing the Cloud First Policy for public sector digital transformation.
  3. Supporting SMEs – protecting them from unfair competition and promoting digital technology adoption for enhanced competitiveness.
  4. Driving the digital economy – creating new income streams and opportunities for Thai citizens.
  5. Developing digital talent – equipping the workforce with digital skills to strengthen Thailand’s global competitiveness. 

The event also featured a special CEO Talk by Mr. Thana Photikamchon, a digital technology expert on the DGA Committee and CEO of Kasikorn LINE Co., Ltd., on “Executive Digital Leadership: Transforming People’s Lives in the Digital Era.” This was followed by a panel discussion on “Successful Models for Digital Government Transformation,” featuring: Mr. Kokit Danchaiwijit (Deputy Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee), Ms. Jarulak Ruangsuwan (Secretary-General of the National Savings Fund), and Mr. Pongkasem Khaimook (Director-General of the Department of Mental Health). These alumni shared their success stories inspiring future digital government innovations. The session was moderated by Dr. Thatchapol Posayanon, TDGA Advisor and Managing Director of Palo Alto Networks Thailand & Indochina.

This event not only served as a TDGA alumni reunion but also provided an opportunity to update attendees on Thailand’s global digital advancements, reinforcing its recognition in the international digital landscape.
