Mr Chuchatr Pramoolpol, Secretary-General of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), stated that the OIC, through the Center of InsurTech, Thailand (CIT), has launched the OIC Gateway Platform, providing comprehensive insurance data services that are easily accessible through the LINE Official Account “คปภ. รอบรู้” or “@OICConnect”. This platform serves as a central hub developed through collaboration between the OIC and the insurance business sector. It acts as a “highway” connecting data between the OIC, insurance companies, and relevant agencies via the OIC’s central data center, which upholds high standards of security and information integrity. This brings benefits in many ways, both to the public and the insurance business sector, by allowing easy, fast, and convenient access to the use of various insurance data in one place. It significantly helps streamline processes and reduces work steps effectively.

The OIC Gateway initially launched “MyPolicy” service, allowing insureds to check the coverage details of all their insurance policies. It also provides a service to verify the locations of the OIC offices and insurance companies across Thailand including information on agents and brokers to ensure confidence before purchasing insurance. In addition, it facilitates easy access for filing complaints or contacting the OIC offices nationwide, all in one place. For the second phase, the OIC has expanded the services offered to the public by adding three new features composed of:
1) Insurance Coverage Summary Service which summarizes all the insurance coverage in a format that is easy for the public to understand, providing an immediate overview of the benefits and coverage rights; 2) Tax Benefit Verification Service that allows users to check their tax benefits from existing insurance policies, including information on tax deductions available from their current insurance, and also offers recommendations for other types of insurance that can be purchased to improve their tax planning; and 3) Voluntary Motor Insurance Claim History Check Service which allows users to check their claim history for voluntary car insurance, with the option to view up to 2 years of past claims. It also includes a driving score to encourage insureds to improve their driving habits.

Meanwhile, in order to increase access to insurance services for the public, OIC and DGA have prioritized and collaborated to encourage the OIC Gateway service to be available via the “Thang Rath” application. This platform consolidates access to services from various government agencies into a single channel and integrates data from government agencies. The collaboration between OIC and DGA aims to develop the service delivery of OIC for the benefit of the public, the insurance business sector as a whole, and the country.

Mrs. Airada Luangvilai, Senior Executive Vice President and Acting President & CEO of DGA, revealed that the “Thang Rath” application serves as a one-stop Citizen Portal for public services, providing comprehensive digital government services. This new form of digital service is collaboration between DGA, the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC), and relevant government agencies. Together, they have integrated key services from various agencies into the “Thang Rath” application, enabling the public to access government services online seamlessly. Citizens can “Know, Submit, Pay, and Receive” in just one place. This allows citizens to access services without having to waste time traveling to government offices in person.

Currently, the “Thang Rath” app has integrated more than 151 key government services, with a total of 3,346,861 downloads and 23,881,218 accumulated uses (as of June 17, 2024). DGA continues to collaborate with government agencies to expand the services available on the app. Examples of services that citizens can access through the app include checking social security benefits, health insurance rights, childcare subsidies for newborns, summary credit bureau data, universal health coverage benefits, utility bill payments for water and electricity, or traffic fines via QR Code, etc.

For the latest service, DGA has collaborated with the OIC, the key regulatory body overseeing all aspects of the insurance business. Recognizing the importance of providing public services through digital platforms, OIC has integrated the OIC Gateway into the “Thang Rath” application. This enhances convenience for citizens, allowing them to access and verify insurance-related information quickly and easily. With this addition, the “Thang Rath” app truly becomes a centralized hub for public services, making government interactions more accessible – all in one place. Just recognize the name of the “Thang Rath” app, and you can seamlessly connect to various government services.

The OIC Gateway service is now available, opening the door to the digital insurance world. You can access the OIC Gateway via LINE at ‘คปภ.รอบรู้ @oicconnect’ or through the “Thang Rath” application, available for both Android and iOS. For more details, visit www.ทางรัฐ.com.
