Public Sector Excellence Awards 2021


The Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) (DGA), represented by Dr. Supot Tiarawut, the President & CEO, and Mr. Nattawat Woranopakul, Senior Executive Vice President of DGA, participated in the Public Sector Excellence Award 2021 ceremony which was held via electronic system. DGA received the Public Sector Service Award, with a ‘Good’ level in the ‘Service Development’ category for its project on the ‘Central Open Government Data Portal’ Website (data.go.th). The ceremony, chaired by Mr. Wissanu Krea-ngam, the Deputy Prime Minister, was organized by the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) on September 16, 2021. Moreover, Dr. Monsak Socharoentum, the Vice President of Government Data Solutions, and Dr. Raykha Srisomboon, the Vice President of Organizational Strategy, also participated in the event and captured the achievement.





The ‘Open Government Data Center System (Open Government Data), data.go.th website, which received the award, was developed under the concept of being the central platform for accessing open government data in the country. It allows the public to easily and quickly access government data. The data is published in formats that enable data preview, visualization, and automatic APIs for the published datasets. It also allows for the datasets management and metadata associated with the data. Currently, there are 15 categories of datasets published in collaboration with various government agencies, including: 1) Religion, Art, and Culture, 2) Law, Courts, and Crime, 3) Education, 4) Economy, Finance, and Industry,5) Public Health, 6) Agriculture, 7) Science, Digital Technology, and Innovation, 8) Official Statistics, 9) Urban and Regional Development, 10) Social Welfare, 11) Transport and Logistics, 12) Tourism and Sports, 13) Politics and Governance, 14) Budget and Public Expenditure and 15) Natural Resources and the Environment.
There are over 3,822 datasets available for download, offering opportunities for further innovation. To ensure excellence in providing open data services, the Open Government Data Center also offers data services through a network in Data API format. This enables application developers, service users, the private sector, other agencies, and the public to easily and quickly access open data in accordance with international standards.
